TOURS:
The last weekend of every month we host our ‘Hang out with Michael’ weekend, inclusive of accommodation, breakfast, dinner, tea, coffee, water, workshop and the trio of tours. R3600 per person sharing, R4700 for a chalet to yourself.
- What is the Trio of Tours?
The trio of tours is the Stone Circle Museum, stone circle ruins, and Adam’s Calendar.
- Who does your tours?
The tours are done by scientist, explorer and acclaimed author, Michael Tellinger.
- Do you do tours to the Giant Footprint?
Yes, the giant footprint is a full day tour and is 1.5 hours from Stone Circle Lodge.
- Do I need a special vehicle to do the tours?
If you are more than 3 people you will need to drive in your own vehicle which needs to have a minimum height of 16cm to manage the short mountain roads.
- How much do the tours cost?
The trio of tours costs R5000 for up to 4 people or R1700 per person if you book accommodation at Stone Circle Lodge.
- How long does the tour take?
The trio of tours can be done in one day, starting at 09:30, ending at 5pm.
- What is Inzalo Y’Langa?
Inzalo Y’Langa is Adam’s Calendar.
- Is Adam’s Calendar in Waterval Boven/Emgwenya or Blaauboskraal?
No, Adam’s Calendar is 50km from Stone Circle Lodge in Kaapsehoop.
- Can I visit Adam’s Calendar on my own?
Not usually. The gates are locked and we pay for entry and for the wardens to open for us.
- How do I book for tours?
We need 48 hours notice to ensure Michael’s availability and to secure access to Adam’s Calendar.
- Do I need a guide to visit the sacred sites?
Yes, there is a tremendous amount of information and scientific context which Michael shares.
ACCOMMODATION:
Please note, we have a minimum two-night stay for those who haven’t booked tours with us.
- How much does accommodation cost?
Chalets 1 & 2 are R850 per night; 4, 5 & 6 are R1100 per night, 3 & 8 are R1300 per night.
- Do the chalets have fridges and kettles?
Yes, each chalet has a fridge, kettle and a queen-sized bed. Chalet 8 has two singles or a king.
- Do you have self-catering chalets?
No, we serve dinner and buffet breakfast to those who order it when making their reservation. Soul food from our garden and surrounding farms.
FOOD:
We have a meal of the day, house salad, and dessert – R200 per person. Please see our ‘food’ page for more information.
- Do you cater for vegans and vegetarians?
We cater for omnivores and vegetarians. Vegans by prior arrangement.
WHAT TIME IS CHECK IN?
Check in is between 13:00 and 20:00.
Check out is at 11:00.
